COVID-19
As we know from this paper there are many patients that have the infection but are asymptotic. This paired with the knowledge that the test is only 90% sensitive. So in a population with an incidence rate of 14% that are asymptotic and a 90% sensitivity rate then 1.4% of patients will labeled as negative and yet be positive. In 100 codes or OR inductions our staff will be exposed. Is this an acceptable risk rate? I think not.
